Just below Quay is Doyles, a name
synonymous with seafood in Sydney. Most customers sit outside to enjoy the fabulous views
across the harbor, though a set of thick green railings does somewhat interrupt the view
of the Opera House. Businesspeople and tourists come here if they don't want to lay out
the cash for Quay or if they fancy a more relaxed style. The most popular dish here is
basically pricey fish-and-chips (choose between ocean trout, garfish, John Dory,
swordfish, whiting, and salmon). You can also pick up a dozen oysters for A$20 (U.S.$14)
or a lobster for A$65 (U.S.$45.50). A second Doyles, Doyles on the Beach (02/9337 2007),
at Watsons Bay, serves fabulous food. Nearby is a third Doyles, Doyles Fisherman's Wharf
(02/9337 1572), located on the ferry wharf; it used to be a take-out joint, but now has
sit-down service.
