If you go to Bondi, you have to swim in the Pacific; if you see the Harbour Bridge, you have to walk across it; if you visit the Opera House, you have to eat at the Bennelong--that's if by the time you get there the arrogant service I keep hearing about has been dispensed with. The restaurant is as uniquely designed as the building itself, with tall glass windows furrowing around in an arch and grabbing the harbor and Circular Quay by the throat. Diners munch on main course such as roasted tuna steak and roasted tomato with tomato-and-chili jam, or red emperor with sweet and sour eggplant baked in clay. Many patrons would rather miss the first half of the opera they've paid a fortune to see rather than leave the Bennelong before eating dessert
