You can't help but notice the mast,
rigging, and sailing ship sails that mark this restaurant in the line of four right next
to the water below the main spread of The Rocks. It's very popular at lunchtime when
businesspeople snap up the best seats outside in the sunshine, but at night with the
colors of the city washing over the harbor it can be magical. Most main courses cost a
hefty A$25 (U.S.$17.50) or so, but for that you get a choice of such things as steaks, mud
crab, fish fillets, prawns, or a seafood platter. The food is nice and simple, with the
markup added for the glorious position and views.
In the same building you'll find the
Waterfront's sister restaurants Wolfie's Grill (02/9241 5577), which serves good
char-grilled beef and seafood dishes for A$22 to $26 (U.S.$15.40 to $18.20), and The
Italian Village (02/9247 6111), which serves regional Italian cuisine for A$22 to $30
(U.S.$15.40 to $21). The third in the line is an excellent Chinese restaurant, the
Imperial Peking (02/9247 7073), which serves excellent food for similar prices. All four
restaurants offer fantastic water views and indoor and outdoor dining.
